Who would have guessed that starting in 2004 that Japanese Sushi restaurants would spring up like mushrooms in Kyiv. Yes, this is in Eastern Europe and bordering on Asia, but does that explain the popularity of this Asian cuisine? One might also suggest that with the Dneiper River and the Black Sea so close, maybe the local catfish have taken the place of Eel and brought the prices down.

And you have a problem with that?? Sure they bottom feed and suck up all the radioactive matter still drifting down from Chernobyl, but they glow at night and it makes them easier to catch. But they’re still healthier than all the fish off the coast of Japan ((
